1. To nurture nature by development, conservation and protection of nature and environment.
2. To protect environment and nature by creating and generation awareness in society.
3. To undertake programmes of nourishment, protection and development of nature and natural environment.
4. To support, encourage, care and protect nature and environment to grow, develop and protect.
5. To carry research activities, work and create mass awareness among society individually or with the help of other bodies to save, protect and conserve environment and all its related biotic and abiotic components ( wild life, forests, water, soil, air and other natural resources).
6. To promote, develop, cultivate and conserve medicinal and herbal plants and faunal species and undertake related activities.
7. To take measures to protect, conserve and develop the natural water resources, water bodies, like lakes, rivers, canals, swamps, marshes, reservoirs, ponds, public inland water sources.
8. To take measures and coordinate with other organisation to provide clean and potable drinking water to general public.
9. To undertake and support programmes related to environmental education, ethics, psychology, environment information system and other related fields.
10. To undertake, manage and run, promote tree plantation projects/programmes, cleanliness drives, sanitation campaigns, pollution prevention activities.
11. To work and help in stabilising the earth’s climate, combat climate change and global warming and improve global and regional air quality, soil quality, water quality and groundwater quality standards by reducing emissions of pollutants.
12. To manage and work to make better and sustainable use of natural resources, sustainable agriculture, horticulture , forestry, wild life, water management, animal husbandry, access to land, local resource, herbal plantation etc. and other related urban and rural activities.
13. To undertake management of water resources in sustainable manner through water harvesting including rain water harvesting, waste water management, watershed management, and wetland management and stream regeneration.
14. To start, run, operate, manage, and help degree, diploma and required level of courses for students and needy persons in disciplines of Environmental System.
15. To engage in all kinds of research and development work meant for the all kind of waste management (e.g. solid waste, liquid waste, municipal, hazardous, biomedical waste etc.)
16. To carry out research and work to prevent and minimize loss as well as early warning systems for natural calamities.
